Meoms are cats from another dimension. They enjoy partying, exploring the universe, and meeting new friends. Using telekinesis and through willpower, they traverse through the various panes and dimensions of the universe, and are almost entirely indestructible. A meom destroyed in one dimension simply re-appears somewhere else in space.
Meoms communicate in many ways, with small beeps or robotic meows (and meow-like noises) being their most common voices. They can also communicate via email or text message. Because of their connection with waves, most meoms are able to control some form of electronic device, and can thus change nearby television channels or radio stations to suit their mood. They're not robots, though; instead, they're kind of like soft foam toys. They are the natural enemies of all cruel or wicked inter-dimensional beings.
Every meom is a little bit different, but every meom gets along with all the others. They can be happy either by themselves or with all of their friends around.
A minimeom is an incipient meom. Minimeoms have not yet grown bodies, and are instead floating ears, paws, or tails. When they are a paw, they always lose their paw pads by the time they mature. (A meom that looks like a paw usually functions as a remote control; if you make one upset, it will take a long time for it to stop changing the channel.) They're a little impetuous, and might need to be calmed down and shown the right path.
After a long enough time, some meoms might become a metameom. It's not clear what makes them transform in this manner. As a metameom, their personalities become more mature, and they learn to guide and care for smaller meoms and minimeoms. They're almost ready to start exploring the most faraway dimensions, and sometimes accompany megameoms on their travels.
Megameoms are the final stage of meom. Their large heads are as tall as an average-sized human being, and their colorful portals act as portals to the megameom's personal dimension. Each megameom's personal dimension is different, but are generally no larger than a square mile, and often much smaller. These sub-dimensions are always very peaceful, happy places. Some megameoms contain lush, flowering forest clearings, while others contain relaxing interior spaces. These sub-dimensions always include a duplicated physical form of the original megameom itself, although the body that lives inside the sub-dimension does not act as a portal. In this way, megameoms act as spaceships that can carry people across the universe and into brand new places.
Megameoms finally regain the paw-pads that they remember from their time as minimeoms.
All megameoms are strong, courageous, benevolent beings that are always ready to fight such evil entities as the Alphabetarians or Probotaxazatonians.
